Carole Maurel

An alumni of the prestigious French Arts school Les Gobelins, Carole Maurel began her professional career in the film and TV industry, working as a storyboard artist and 2D/3D animator. She broke into comics with The Purple Chronicles, an anthology project about Lesbianism (Catpeople Prod, 2012), and followed it with Make Yourself at Home (for KSTR/Casterman, 2013), a book about life with multiple female roommates. In 2016, Carole immersed herself in sequential storytelling work and released both The Apocalypse According to Magda (Delcourt) and Luisa. Since then, Carole has illustrated three graphic novels for different writers. Carole’s stories are always beautiful and subtle depictions of life choices, love and relationships.
