David Muñoz

Born October 10th, 1968 in Madrid, Spain.

David studied art at the university level, but it is his self-taught writing skills, which he honed by contributing to comic book stories for artist friends, that eventually lead him to write professionally for many Spanish graphic novels, including comedy titles such as “Rayos y Centellas,” about a band of Spanish superheroes, to more grounded and dramatic fare such as “Miedo,” about the life of a college student in the1980s. During this time he also began to write screenplays, both for episodic TV as well as for feature film, most notably with “The Devil's Backbone,” directed by Guillermo Del Toro in 2001.

While he continues writing for both the big and small screen, David prefers work in the comic book medium as it allows him more control over the finished product. In 2003, he began to teach script writing at l'Universidad Pontificia de Salamanque, where he heads writing workshops to this day, in between collaborations with talented artists such as Tirso, on new comic book titles.
