District 14 - Previews and Reviews Round-up
District 14: Season 2 will be in stores this Wednesday, January 1st (in some comic shops as early as Tuesday December 31st). Starting off the new year with a return to the District. Read on for some reviews of Season 1, and images from both Season 1 and 2.
"When
I first bought District 14: Season 1, I knew nothing about the comic.
So, why buy it? Why waste almost 40 bucks on a comic that might just be
wasted on you. Well... There was something about the cover that grabbed
my eye and
it wasn't the foreword by Jeff Smith. It's a simple cover, well, to an
extent. The logo and title is very elaborate but that wasn't it. There
was an indescribable urge that hit me, that made me want to buy and read
it. And let me tell you, I'm so happy that urge hit me; District 14 is
comic gold." - The 9th Blog
"At a certain point, the mix of
elements emulsifies into something strong, weird, and great." - Paste Magazine
"The
supporting cast is interesting in their own rights, spanning from
Michael’s main dame Vanita to the superhero known as Tigerman. When
everyone is first introduced you make a mental note of if they are
animal, alien, or human, but by the end of the graphic novel you stop
paying attention because they all fit together seamlessly in execution." - Bleeding Cool
"In this breadth of range the book goes further than most attempts at cross-genre fusion. Maybe only League of Extraordinary Gentleman: Century adds as many (or more) disparate elements, but Gabus and Reutimann are a lot more disciplined than Alan Moore and there is no Mary Poppins showing up to save the day… "- The Comics Journal

Back to District 14 with Season 2
The end of 2013 is upon us. Looking back over the year, Humanoids published a slew of wonderful and eclectic titles, two of which set the stage for one of the first releases of 2014, District 14: Season 2.
Back
in February of this year, Season
1 of District 14 was
released to
critical acclaim. We were introduced to the wondrous and mysterious
world of the District, populated by characters such as Michael the
Elephant, Hector the Beaver, and of course, the one and only
Capitaine Bigoodee, who finally had his own story told in the
recently released The
Fantastic Voyage of Lady Rozenbilt
(currently featured as the prize for this month's contest).
Wrapping
up this story cycle, we bring you District
14: Season 2,
arriving in stores January 1st. Season 1 ended on a cliffhanger,
leaving us with many unanswered questions. Journey back to the
mesmerizing metropolis as we answer those questions and possibly ask
even more…
In the meantime, enjoy several new preview pages
from the upcoming release of District
14: Season 2
Happy Holidays!
