Internationally renowned publisher Humanoids revealed today an exclusive first look at brand new original graphic novel EIGHT LIMBS from writing powerhouse Stephanie Phillips, rising star artist Giulia Lalli, colorist Lee Loughridge, and letterer AndWorld Design, about Joanna—a retired Muay Thai champion—who takes in a troubled foster teen and decides to train her, until the teen finds herself entangled in the world of underground fights. Joanna must return to the ring to save her... and keep their new family together. In stores July 11.

After the devastating loss of her Muay Thai championship title, Joanna decided to walk away from competition, start a family, and open her own gym. But her quiet life gets disrupted when an old friend asks her to temporarily foster a troubled teen. 

Just as Joanna believes she is starting to break through Mari's walls, a misunderstanding drives Mari to run away and join an underground fighting ring. Joanna vows to do anything to get her back, even if that means stepping back into the ring.

Stephanie Phillips is an American writer known for comics and graphic novels such as Harley Quinn, Wonder Woman, Grim, and We Only Kill Each Other. She has written critically acclaimed work with some of the industry's major publishers, such as DC, Marvel, Dark Horse, Image Comics, Boom!, and more.

Giulia Lalli is an illustrator and comic artist based out of Italy. Lalli graduated from the International School of Comics in Reggio Emilia, where she studied comics art. After graduating, she illustrated publications for Jumo Health, then launched her original comic series Puck. Most recently, she was the illustrator for the comic book series Ruination with Ryan Bis and Curious Perspective Comics.

EIGHT LIMBS will be available in bookstores everywhere (bookshop.org) on July 11, 2023 and in comic shops (comicshoplocator.com) on July 12, 2023. Digital copies can be purchased from comiXology and other digital platforms.
