Born in 1934 and died in 2020, Michel Rigaud, known as Paul-Jean Hérault, was a French novelist. First the author of spy novels in the early 1970s with Fleuve Noir, he quickly moved to science fiction with the saga Cal de Ter whose first volume was published in 1975. Deeply marked by the Algerian war, his work is characterized by the representation of war, described through the prism of its emptiness and the author's aversion to violence.
