Guy Servais, known as Raives, was born 1959 in Belgium. He is a frequent collaborator of Eric Warnauts, which began when Warnauts wrote Paris-Perdu, which was illustrated by Raives in 1985. Since then, they have continued to work together, sharing duties as artist and writer, beginning with the series Lou Cale, followed by Les Suites Vénitiennes and Un Diamant sous la Lune. In 1999, Raives and Warnauts teamed up with scenarist Michel Vandam to produce Kin la Belle. Raives is also a colorist, among others on Jean-Claude Servais' La Mémoire des Arbres.
