Lakes Comic Arts Festival was a Hit
Last weekend saw the second Lakes Comic Arts Festival and Humanoids first appearance there. And it was a big success! District 14 and The Voyage of Lady Rozenbilt co-creator and artist, Romuald Reutimann, made his first UK appearance, signing and sketching books all weekend for a whole new legion of fans.
He also took part in a live drawing session with Bone creator, Jeff Smith, as they drew their characters meeting one another, while being interviewed by Paul Gravett (who wrote the foreword to the Barbarella Collector's Edition).
The artwork will go on auction later in the year to raise money for
The Metabaron returns in 2016
The Metabaron, the seminal character created by Alexandro Jodorowsky and Mœbius in 1980, returns in a powerful new “space opera” in June 2016.
The Metabaron was introduced to the world in the international bestseller The Incal, first created by Jodorowsky and Mœbius. Followed by The Metabarons, a Sci-Fi saga with art by Juan Gimenez and dedicated to the ultimate warrior’s genealogy. It rapidly came to be THE “space opera” series of the 1990s, with more than one million copies sold, and translated throughout the world to this day.
In the final pages of the first season, the question of what became of the last of the Metabarons went unresolved. No Name, as he is known, chose to leave behind no descendants to prevent the bloody ritual of the Caste of the Metabarons from being perpetuated – that in order to become the new Metabaron, the son must kill his father.
In June 2016, Humanoids will unveil part of the mystery, publishing the first volume of Metabaron, a four-book series based on a story by Jodorowsky and written by Jerry Frissen with each book drawn by a different artist.
Valentin Sécher, will be the first to take up the mantle, more than ten years after Gimenez last drew the iconic character. Sécher burst onto the scene with the series Khaal: Chronicles of a Galactic Emperor, and is today considered one of the rising stars of European comics.
Niko Henrichon will grab the reins. An internationally-recognized creator, he is best known for the 2006 graphic novel The Pride of Baghdad, written by Brian K. Vaughan. He recently drew the graphic novel Noah, directly linked to the eponymous film by Darren Aronofsky.
David S. Goyer (screenwriter of the Dark Knight trilogy, Man of Steel, Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice), emblematic figure of the crossroads of Hollywood and the world of comics, writes: “to my mind, The Metabarons is the greatest work of graphic fiction ever produced.”

Shamanism - A Dance with no color
Color is something that affects art in a variety of ways. With or without color, a careful decision is made on the presentation of the picture.
Igor Baranko may have written and drawn Shamanism, however Vyacheslav Xenofontov is the colorist who helped bring Shamanism to life with the addition of color. This begs the question, "what if the book had no color?" Much like the story of Shamanism deals with changing history, what if Xenofontov's colors were never used? Below are several pages presented before they were colored.

FAQ - Review Account
What is a review account?
A review account is a login for Humanoids.com that is given to verified press/journalists that report on, spotlight, or review Graphic Novels, Comic Books or Pop Culture, via print, online, podcast, etc.
What does a review account do?
A Review Account allows you to have 'Press Access' to the titles from the Humanoids site directly. We have recently added digital editions to most of our catalog. Normally, these present themselves to visitors as an 'Excerpt,' but, by logging in with a Review Account, you will instead see all the volumes that make up a book and can read them on a computer or iPad, for free.
How do I access my account?
Your newsletter e-mail has a 'Click Here' button that will automatically re-direct you to Humanoids.com and log you in. If you'd like to access your account without the link, make sure to add a password to your account. To do this, use the link in this e-mail to go to Humanoids.com. Hover over 'MY ACCOUNT' in the Main Menu, then click 'My Profile'. Once you set up your account, you can access digital reviews from your preferred device without the need to reference this newsletter.
Does this cost anything?
The review account is free for verified journalists/press. We encourage you to take time and read any books that interest you. Please also feel free to let fellow reviewers know about this service and have them contact us at pr@humanoids.com for account verification.
Do you have a preference on when titles are reviewed?
In our humble opinion, reviews are most often read around the time of a book's release. If you have an open date for your review or article, we encourage reviews posted or published within 2 weeks of a new book's release.
I've reviewed a title, now what?
Please e-mail us at pr@humanoids.com and/or tag our social media accounts (@HumanoidsInc on Twitter, HumanoidsInc on FB). We will share the review on social media and link to it from the books page in the review section as well as feature most recent reviews on our main page.
Who do I contact about requesting an interview with an author?
Feel free to e-mail pr@humanoids.com and list who you would like to interview. We will do our best to facilitate this in a timely manner.
Can I request a PDF instead?
High-Resolution Watermarked PDF's are available as an alternative and can be requested via e-mail approximately 2-3 months prior to release.
What if I have a question not answered here?
